Spray vs Cream vs Dropper — Which Numbing Format Is Right for You?
Cream, spray and dropper solve three different moments in a session. Knowing when to reach for each one is what keeps a piece comfortable from the first line to the last.
Cream — before the session
The pre-procedure cream is the foundation. Applied before work starts, it gives even, controlled numbing for roughly two to three hours and is ideal for sensitive areas and longer sittings.
Spray — during the session
The spray is made for use while you work. It is fast-acting, gives roughly 45–60 minutes of numbing per application, and helps reduce redness, inflammation and plasma seepage. Because it does not dilute the ink, the spray is the choice when you want pigment at full strength.
Dropper — targeted control
The dropper is the precision tool. Apply drops directly to a specific spot — lips or eyebrows in permanent makeup, for example — or mix it straight into the pigment for fine control over how much you use.
Quick decision guide
- Long outline/shading work → cream before, spray during.
- Permanent makeup, lips, brows → dropper for targeted application.
- Want full colour strength → spray, not the dropper, for mixing decisions.
